With the new section name (G11) the officers felt it important to create an unique logo to rally around. What we saw at the Section Officer Summit was many our the other sections had characters/symbols that identified them and gave them an identity. Much like to images we associate with our Lodges, we want to create a logo that symbolizes our Section
This helps build a Section identity for all Lodges to be a part of, which is one of our goals – creating fellowship between Lodges.
Paul Bunyan is a well-known folk-hero / larger than life myth in the upper Midwest. Stories of Paul include having “lumbered the Dakotas” and “forming Minnesota’s 10,000 lakes with his footprints”
The old BSA Region 10, which used Paul Bunyan as the logo, comprised 16 councils, spanning from Wyoming through Minnesota. Of those 16, all but 3 of the councils in Region 10 are now members of Section G11. All of our current Lodges where members of the old Region 10
